Deutsche Welle offers practice-oriented multimedia traineeship lasting 18 months aimed at up-and-coming international journalists who are native speakers of German or English. The new traineeship gets underway in September 2017, the application deadline is 22 February.
Deutsche Welle are looking for young people from all over the world interested in a comprehensive, exceptional quality journalism programme with an international broadcaster.
Candidates should have journalism experience or be passionate about switching to journalism from technology/IT, economics or the sciences, open-minded and full of creative ideas.
The DW editorial traineeship is paid, with a gross starting salary of approx. €1,600 per month. As full-time employees, DW trainees are automatically eligible for German public health insurance.
As the trainees move to Germany from abroad, they are assisted at every step of the visa process. The traineeship can lead to employment in one of Deutsche Welle's departments in Bonn or Berlin.
For the bilingual DW traineeship candidates should be:
- English native speakers with a working knowledge of German
- German native speakers with an excellent working knowledge of English
Native speakers of any other DW programme language are invited to apply as well. However, very good English skills and basic knowledge of German arerequired.
Successful candidates will be based in Bonn and Berlin.
