Exhibition shows slices of the artist’s life in London and Tanzania
On 26 February, Ambassador Peter Ammon and his wife Marliese Heimann-Ammon hosted a performance of Susan Hill’s short play “Spring” at their Residence together with a preview of the new exhibition “Heads of Society” by Kimberley Gundle, which will open in March.
The short play "Spring", directed by Harry Burton, features a young woman who shares her turbulent thoughts about her future husband and her family with an older woman. They meet on a clifftop on a sunny day, and even as the young woman wonders if her expected future is all there is, she enjoys the view along the coast and the companionship of the older woman which gives her hope of more joyful days.
The play raised some intriguing questions about life for the audience, among whom were H.E. Euripides L. Evriviades and his wife, the Lord Mayor of Westminster and Lord Green of Hurstpierpoint and Lady Green. Afterwards the guests enjoyed a dinner followed by a tour of the latest Residence exhibition “Heads of Society” by Kimberley Gundle, showing slices of the artist’s life in London and Tanzania.
