The 2017 IAAF World Championship takes place at the Olympic Stadium in London

72 German Athletes, including javelin stars Thomas Röhler and Johannes Vetter as well as the three-times world discus champion Robert Harting, have qualified through the German Championships to participate in this year’s IAAF World Championship in London.

After winning two gold and eight medals in total at the IAAF World Championship 2015 in Beijing, the bar is set high for this year’s German athletics team.

Germany will take part in the biannual competition with 42 female and 31 male athletes.

Among the women are shooting-star Konstanze Klosterhalfen and the sprinters Gina Lückenkemper and Rebekka Haase.

The men include world champions such as David Storl as well as emerging talents, such as European triple jump champion Max Hess.
