The Wilfred Owen Association hosted a breakfast to commemorate 100 years of the war poet Wilfred Owen's stay in Edinburgh on June 26, 2017.

On 29th May 2017 Consul General Jens-Peter Voss visited the Scottish Jewish Archives Centre (SJAC) and Garnethill Synagogue in Glasgow. He was welcomed and shown around by Harvey Kaplan MA (Hons) SJAC Director, and Deborah Haase MA (Hons), AMA.
Mrs. Josephine Valerie Chexal was appointed Honorary Consul of Germany in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in April 1999 and after 18 years of service has now taken leave from her duties. The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Scotland and the North of England marked the occasion by holding a reception in honour of Mrs. Chexal in Newcastle-upon-Tyne on 17 May.
