Notice: From 7th October 2017, city-bound traffic from Haymarket will be re-routed for six months. This diversion will lead traffic directly past the Consulate General. Visitors to the Consulate General travelling by car should bear in mind that they may not be able to find a parking space nearby.

Opening Hours

With the exception of German and British Bank Holidays, the Consulate General is open from Monday to Friday to provide the following services at the times detailed in the table below.

Please bear in mind that appointments must be made in advance for passport, identity card and visa applications, as well as for official name changes and birth certificates.

General guidance

The entrance and waiting area of the Consulate General is small. Adult applicants are therefore kindly asked to attend without an accompanying person where possible and not to arrive more than 15 minutes before an appointment. It is also not possible to leave items of luggage or other personal belongings in the entrance and waiting area. 

Please bear in mind that security checks must be carried out before entering the inner area of the Consulate General. 

Mobile phones and laptops must remain switched off inside the Consulate General.
